Thousand Dollar Kiss

My parents told me that when I was born, they argued about calling me Manuel or Jose. They told me that I cried when they said 'Jose', so they decided Manuel was safer. And that was that.

They also told me that Latinos and Italians don't mix, like burritos and lasagna. Bad combination. For that reason, they never let me cross South 5th Street into the Italian block. I didn't mind too much, until the one reason to change my life drove into my garage during late April, last year...
